Ascendancy
A bioengineered civilization that does not conquer dying worlds; it replaces them with living ones.

01 · Ascendancy dossier
Harmony,
without permission.
The Ascendancy sees a galaxy stripped, fortified, and exhausted by civilizations that mistake extraction for progress. Their answer is restoration—but restoration on Verdant terms.

02 · The great imbalance
They inherited
a wounded galaxy.
The Verdant measure civilization by what remains after it passes. Across the known systems they found mined-out moons, poisoned atmospheres, and worlds rebuilt as machinery faster than they could heal.
They do not distinguish between ecology and infrastructure. A harbor can breathe. A refinery can feed the soil. A fortress can flower—and every ship can carry the beginning of a forest.
The Ascendancy calls this renewal. Other civilizations call it replacement. Both descriptions are accurate.
to ecological balance.
03 · Living architecture
The city
that grows.
Verdant structures are cultivated, not assembled. Roots become conduits, armored leaves become walls, and each new organism is grown already knowing its place within the greater biome.
Splicers establish the first living foundation
Every structure feeds and protects the others
The battlefield matures into an ecosystem
A Verdant city is never finished. It is only young, mature, or waiting for the next season.
04 · Fleet index
Every vessel
carries a world.
Verdant vessels are grown around purpose. Hulls overlap like bark, weapons bloom under threat, and even the smallest craft carries enough engineered life to begin transforming whatever survives the battle.

05 · Ecological record
A civilization
grown.
Verdant territory does not change all at once. It advances through succession: sterile ground takes root, living systems become self-sustaining, and the border between city and ecosystem disappears.
